World Book Day
Had we stumbled into Hogwarts? Fallen down a rabbit hole into Wonderland? Taken a time machine back hundreds of years?
Almost!
On Thursday 23rd February, the school celebrated its first World Book Day. The secondary school dressed as their favourite character from a book, and the primary school came in pyjamas ready for a bedtime story.
Even the teachers were replaced with sailors, Elizabeth Bennetts, dystopian proletariats, evil stepmothers and pyjama-partiers.
Everyone had a great day describing their characters or favourite books in English, and reading with other ages of students. Many new stories were made in creative English classes…..perhaps the start of a bestselling book, which future students will be dressing as in World Book Days to come?
And last but not least, we held our first ever #shelfie competition. We were amazed by the creativity involved! A huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who entered. Hold your breath to hear the winners…
