World Book Day

After the snow and cold of the previous week, we were finally able to celebrate World Book Day!

We dressed up as characters from books we know and love, from Willy Wonka to Pippi Longstocking. We brought in some of our favourite books to share with our friends, and had the chance to talk about them and present them in class. We saw some beautiful books from our friends, and heard the story of The Cat in the Hat, to kick off our next topic around Dr Seuss.

Visit www.worldbookday.com for ideas on encouraging your child to enjoy reading, such as suggestions on what to read next.

A child who reads for a minute a day reads 8,000 words a year. However, a child who reads 20 minutes a day reads 1,800,000 words a year.
