The boy in striped pyjamas – John Boyne Article by Nicolas Mouro
The boy in striped pyjamas is a book written by John Boyne, an Irish novelist. It’s the story of a German boy of nine years old called Bruno. His father was a Nazi officer who had to supervise a concentration camp and the family had to leave Berlin. Bruno heard they had to go to “Outwith” but in fact it was Auschwitz. The young Bruno arrived near the concentration camp.He thought that it was a farm where its inhabitants had to wear striped pyjamas.
He met Shmuel a Jewish boy who was nine years old too and who lived inside the camp behind the fence. What would this friendship change for Bruno and Shmuel…?
