On January 24, 2025, our high school community joined the world in celebrating the International
Day of Education under this year\u2019s theme, \u201cArtificial Intelligence and Education.\u201d This global
observance highlights the vital role of education in promoting sustainable development, especially
as AI continues to reshape how we learn and engage with the world. At our school, the event was
marked by a unique and inspiring Web Radio activity that empowered students to explore AI’s role
in media, creativity, and humanitarian responses, while simultaneously developing their language,
communication, and digital literacy skills.

A New Way to Learn, Using New Media: Web R<\/em>adio as a Tool for Skill Developmen<\/strong>t<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activities began way back with an insightful orientation led by our Deputy School Principal,
Mrs. Tindjogo——during the English Language Class, she introduced the Premi\u00e8re GT students to
the world of Web Radio\u2014an innovative tool that blends technology with creativity. The students
were introduced to the dynamics of how Web Radio works, not only as a platform for broadcasting
but as an interactive, real-time educational tool that enhances both oral and written
communication skills. Mrs. Tindjogo emphasized how Web Radio can bridge gaps in media
literacy, offer a creative outlet, and develop technical skills that are highly relevant in today’s
digital world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This hands-on activity was designed to show students how Web Radio can help them develop
critical thinking skills, improve their media literacy, and even better understand how AI influences
learning and communication processes. By participating in this dynamic activity, students also had
the opportunity to reflect on the power of education in their own lives and how it helps them
navigate the influence of technology in their communities.
Fostering Creativity and Reflecting on Global Issues
Our students took full advantage of the Web Radio platform by engaging in discussions on
important global issues, reflecting on the intersection of art, creativity, and social inclusion. As
part of their English Language classes, the Terminal GT class took the initiative to create and
produce a TV Talk Show titled \u201cArt and Power.\u201d This show focused on the powerful role of art
and creativity in shaping global responses to emergencies. The students discussed how both
Western leaders and those in developing countries use art and culture as tools for influence and
communication, particularly in times of crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the \u201cArt and Power\u201d TV Talk Show, students explored various case studies, including:
\u2022The reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris, on 7th December 2024, , after the 2019 fire
\u2022The devastating earthquakes in Vanuatu, in December 2024.
\u2022Cyclone-related humanitarian responses in the French island of Mayotte, in
December 2024.
\u2022The Nelson Mandela Legacy in South Africa and beyond.
By discussing these examples, the students delved into how art, creativity, and inclusivity are not
only powerful mediums for political and cultural expression but also essential components in
responding to natural disasters and emergencies. Their research and reflection highlighted how
creative initiatives can foster resilience, raise awareness, and unite people across the world in times
of need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

used to predict the impact of natural disasters, optimize emergency responses, and improve the
